A Simply Not So Simple Mind

At times, life becomes so complicated that you forget the simplicity behind the thought process. Our minds overtake our reasoning and get the best of us. At other times, we may overly rely on intuition and neglect logic and reasoning. Regardless of the method or thought process that we may choose, the idiosyncrasies of life can cause us to lose sight of the bigger picture and larger context of the world that continues to revolve despite our momentary problems that bring us to a stop.

As a clairsentient and highly sensitive person, it becomes challenging to keep things simple and straight forward. Whether it be trying to focus on multiple tasks at once or trying to accomplish a simple menial task, the emotions surrounding me take ahold of my reasoning more than the significance of the task in front of me. This method of living my life based on how everything feels to me can be mentally draining. Much of the logic behind my daily actions becomes skewed and most of my decisions become more of an impulsive heat of the moment decision based on whether it "feels" right to me or not. It is as though my emotional thermostat dominates me more so than my own biological make up. Interestingly, many of my life decisions have not been too far fetched from those derived from reason and critical analysis.

Regardless of whether you question your basis of reasoning and decision making, our bodies are designed to protect us from harm and danger. My internal compass is usually pretty keen at guiding me away from anything that hinders my safety. This form of protective intuitive way of living can easily become excessive if taken to extremes. The anxiety associated with this mode of overdrive can lead to lots of suspicion and mistrust. Fortunately, with a bit of practice, we can hone in on this defect and modify it before it ruins the comfort in our lives. Most of all, a calm mind with clarity can allow for precise decisions to flow more smoothly, leading to a life of deep fulfillment and genuine achievements.
