Pandemic Thoughts

Now, more than ever, the world seems to be at a halt. Businesses are no longer booming like they used to. Our friends and family seem more agitated than ever. The idea of tomorrow seems like an eternity. Life in and of itself, doesn't seem as promising as it used to. The fantasy sold to us by a retirement account now seems like a nightmare: a nonexistent point in time.

The world is not what it used to be, everyone seems dazed. No one can really articulate their panic properly, so we just overcompensate by buying in excess- a false sense of security. We are ready to do what ever it takes to get by, whether it be washing our hands repetitively or buying a $15 can of overpriced Lysol. When did life become so precious? Did it really have to take a worldwide pandemic to reflect on the fragility of our time here? I guess so.

Now, more than ever, I've become quite reflective myself. Lots of time has been on my hands and inevitably, lots of it has been put to the test mentally. I've been trying to get a sense of my belonging within my career. I've come to realize that my duty on this earth has not quite been fulfilled.

Many people may feel similarly; they aren't ready to say goodbye or ready to take their last breathe. They can't even fathom the idea of having to fade away into deep sleep hooked onto a a respirator; a not so glorious way to exit this world. More than anything, we haven't quite realized our purpose, or at least we haven't discovered it to begin with. This sort of psychological crisis, reminiscent of a midlife crisis, has come to us when we least expected it. COVID-19 has taken a mighty hold on our psych, more than we would like to admit.

Taking the time to discover what lights your fire on soul, makes you breathless, and keeps you wanting more can reap miraculous benefits. The ability to participate in your sole purpose will give you feelings beyond a sense of accomplishment, it will mark your time here on earth and leave you feeling at peace with your finite purpose. The ability to leave behind your spiritual legacy will give you an inner sense of enjoyment, an unmatched energy that will allow you to experience heightened levels of well-being and enjoyment. For most of us, COVID-19 has become a top priority, so we might as well embrace it: a positive force that will guide us beyond pandemic proportions.
